La Giocomotiva di via Bisleri has the child as the fulcrum of its educational conception, capable of having an active role in the construction and acquisition of knowledge and understanding, drawing inspiration from the educational experience of Reggio Emilia. Children have the opportunity to develop a love and interest in learning new things and discovering their abilities. Every moment lived is pure learning and great space is given to the role of emotion, as a true heritage and an important component in the development of the child.
Our staff team includes English teachers who take care of introducing the children to the English language through moments of play, songs and readings in the language. The stimulation of verbal and sound constructions different from those of the mother tongue allows children to activate new connections, to have greater mental openness, flexibility and adaptability to different contexts and cultures.
We know how important food is for young children who are encountering the world of food for the first time, which is why we have chosen Cir-Food as a selected partner for kitchen management that guarantees the supply of quality organic food. Our cook prepares perfectly balanced menus for our children, so as to promote harmonious development and healthy growth. The presence of the internal kitchen also allows us to introduce our children to the preparation of food through activities and workshops.
The environments and all the supports of our kindergarten are conceived and designed to accommodate children in the best possible way, taking into account their growth needs. The three sections are divided into different angles based on age: the infant/toddler section offers soft corners and supports to help them make their first moves, as well as a sensory panel revisited every year by the educators. The windows make the medium section bright and suggestive, while in the large section the space is designed to encourage conversation and thought in order to bring out the children in life. Our “Kiddybus” is always parked at the entrance of the structure, a six-seater stroller thanks to which we take the children to explore the parks and surrounding areas in total safety.
The pride of La Giocomotiva di via Bisleri is a large garden that allows children to have outdoor experiences throughout the year! In summer, the garden is transformed into a perfect space for playing with water and swimming pools and enjoying lunches/snacks in the open air! It is also the favourite meeting place for parents who, when the little ones leave school, often take advantage of our garden to play with their children or chat with the other mums/dads.
In our nursery, the link between school and family is enhanced by the Personal Diary: an individual tool which (written by educators and family) creates, page after page, the story of the child with the addition of photos to support the memory of all magical moments spent with friends, teachers, mum and dad! The diaries travel between nursery and home and are always within children’s reach, a precious tool for identity development too!
The Atelier is the laboratory/study where thoughts take shape and children confront each other; a place where artistic techniques, combined with freedom of expression, are conceived as true learning tools. It is the place where meanings are negotiated, and the many languages of children come to life.
