Since 2021, we have been a part of the People&Baby group, which has found in La Giocomotiva a model to follow and to propose to all future Italian schools joining the group.
For over twenty years, La Giocomotiva has believed in the importance of stimulating and observing children through linguistic, musical, logical-mathematical, spatial, body-kinesthetic, intrapersonal, interpersonal, naturalistic, and existential intelligence.

The La Giocomotiva daycare on Via delle Campora, recognized and accredited by the City of Florence, is a safe and welcoming environment that prioritizes the child during their first three years. Their creativity and potential are huge and our educational project aims to bring out and stimulate their creative energies through playing in nature. Each child has their own personal development journey that we encourage through activities such as gardening, walks, discovery games, ‘embracing trees’, and pet education. Each child’s welcome is characterized by love, respect, and attention to their individuality. Our educators observe and listen to the child, providing them with tools to observe and ask questions, but to develop their curiosity and intuition.
Our nursery has an English Teacher who is responsible for introducing the children to the English. In addition to sharing a daily routine, learning English takes place through playtime, songs, and readings in the language. By stimulating verbal and sound constructions, different than their native language, children are able to activate new connections, have greater open-mindedness, flexibility, and adaptability to different contexts and cultures.
We actively collaborate with the Universities of Education in Florence and Siena, as well as with the Audiation Institute, a cultural association founded in Milan in 2013 by musicians and music teachers who are experts in Edwin E. Gordon’s Music Learning Theory, according to which the processes of learning music begins at birth the same way language is learned.
During the summer, La Giocomotiva di Via delle Campora collaborates with Canadian Island to give children and young people, (ages 3 to 16 years) the opportunity to develop autonomy, friendship, courage, and self-confidence during the summer camps. Our summer camps in Tuscany, are an unforgettable experience and a unique opportunity to learn the English by living it, alternating class lessons with outdoor activities.

Every year, with the closure of nurseries, Giocomotiva La Fantina and Canadian Island offer day camps as places where your children can learn English in a safe and fun environment. Art, music, and theater workshops, recreational and educational activities, as well as water games, offer children a day of fun in English.
Tuscany with its timeless landscapes and lush nature is the setting of our Canadian Island Overnight Camps. Teenagers will find a familiar and safe environment, where they are free to express themselves and move around while living the English 24 hours a day.

Teens Week is a Canadian Island Summer Camp specifically designed for those that want to experience an exciting adventure. Immersed 24 hours a day in the English this unique location (Garfagnana – Pian di Fiume), offers and state-of-the-art services: common areas, pool, rafting, and many other activities!
